Penn no-hits against Central, while Raiders' Nixon one-hits Jimtown

Hochstetler tripled twice among four hits for Bethany.

Penn pitchers Mackenzie Joecken and Danielle Watson combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the Kingsmen defeated Elkhart Central 10-0 in Northern Indiana Conference softball Thursday, April 17.

The duo combined for nine strikeouts, while Watson added two hits, including a triple, and drove in three runs.

At Jimtown, Haley Nixon tossed a one-hitter to lead Northridge to an 8-2 victory over the host Jimmies in non-conference action. Hannah Kistler had three hits and drove in three runs for the Raiders.

At Wawasee, Meghan Fetz homered and Ali Brito stole five bases and scored three times as the Warriors beat Columbia City 9-2.

At Goshen, Hanna Hochstetler had four hits — including two triples — drove in four runs and stole three bases, as Bethany Christian defeated Culver 16-6.

At Concord, the host Minutemen exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning to post a 17-7 victory over South Bend Adams. Winning pitcher RaeAnn Miller had three hits and drove in three for Concord.
