Jimtown's Mott, Northridge's Miller homer in wins

Jimmies jump on Goshen early; Raiders escape Lakeland with 11-10, eight-inning win.

Ryan Mott homered and drove in three runs and Jimtown erupted for six first-inning runs on its way to downing host Goshen 12-7 in high school baseball Wednesday, April 16.

At Lakeland, Matt Miller went 3-for-5 with a homer and four runs batted in as Northridge escaped with an 11-10 eight-inning win. Steven Frye added three RBIs and scored three times for the Raiders

At NorthWood, the Panthers shut out visiting LaVille 9-0 on the arms of Kyle McCoy and Chad Sellers, who combined for a one-hitter. McCoy struck out five and walked none while working three hitless innings to start the game. Tanner Farmwald drove in three runs and Hunter Lane crossed home plate three times for NorthWood.

At Mishawaka, the Cavemen edged visiting Elkhart Central 3-2. Kyle Smith pitched six innings and knocked in three hits for the Blazers.
