Elkhart Central softball slides into a red-hot finish against Goshen

The Blue Blazers scored 11 runs in the seventh inning to secure the win over Goshen.

Elkhart Central surged off an 11-run seventh inning to notch a 19-3 win over host Goshen. Brittany VanderHoek led the Blazer charge with four hits — including two triples and a double to go with five runs batted in.

At Edwardsburg, the Eddies dispatched Elkhart Memorial twice in a doubleheader. Edwardsburg beat the Chargers 14-4 and 6-3.

At South Bend, Aleyse Geier twirled a three-hitter while walking just one as Jimtown beat Clay 7-1. Kaylee Pletcher had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Jimmies.

At Nappanee, NorthWood rode back-to-back five-run innings past visiting LaVille, 10-8. Allie Mattingly tripled for the Panthers.
