Fairfield runner Alex Oberlin signs with Goshen College

Fairfield High School senior Alex Oberlin is a standout in cross country, track.

BENTON — Alex Oberlin, a Fairfield High School senior, has signed to continue his academic, track and cross country careers at Goshen College.

Oberlin is a four-time all-Northeast Corner Conference cross country performer for Falcons coach and GC graduate Rustin Nyce.

A team MVP as a senior, Oberlin has been given six coaches awards during his cross country tenure. His personal-best 5K time is 16:37.

On the track for coach Bob Miller, Oberlin is a two-time all-conference runner in the 3200 and was part of Fairfield's all-NECC 3200 relay. His fastest career times are 4:37 in the 1600, 2:04 in the 800 and 10:17 in the 3200.

Oberlin also played two years of basketball for the Falcons.

Goshen cross country and track is coached by Doug Yoder.
