Frosh debuts with mound win for Elkhart Central

Defending state champs get boost from freshman against Concord; NorthWood nips Mishawaka.

Freshman Andrew Salmon went six innings for the win as defending state champion Elkhart Central captured its season opener 5-2 over host Concord.

The Blue Blazers prevailed despite having just two hits. Salmon scored a pair of runs.

Brett Neveraski had two hits, including a double, for the Minutemen.
