MISHAWAKA — Jess Alexander was all smiles during and after Friday’s McDonald’s Michiana All-Stars.

"It was a lot of fun," said Alexander, a Penn High School senior who netted 18 of her 26 points in the first half Monday, March 31, to help the Gray squad top the Red 79-64 at Bethel College’s Wiekamp Center.

Alexander, who is bound for Saginaw (Mich.) Valley State University, had more than half of her team’s first-half points as the Red team led 40-35 at intermission.

NorthWood senior Morgan Olson (Youngstown State Unviversity recruit) powered for 18 points and 11 rebounds while Penn senior Caroline Buhr (University of San Diego) collected 13 points and 12 rebounds and NorthWood senior Taylor Fielstra (Bethel) had four points for the Gray, which was coached by Taylor’s father, Larry Fielstra.

Elkhart Memorial senior Khadijah Moore (Ball State University) poured in 15 points — eight in the second half — and pulled down nine rebounds for the Red squad.

The Red also got 10 points from South Bend Adams senior Taloni Reese.
