Mishawaka school teacher and coach Jim Garrett celebrates retirement on May 18

Jim Garrett was a coach and teacher at Penn-Harris-Madison schools in Mishawaka. The celebration will take place at Juday Creek Golf Course in Granger.

GRANGER — A celebration of Jim Garrett's 43 years as a coach and educator in Penn-Harris-Madison Schools is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Juday Golf Course.

Garrett, who coached football for many years and ended a successful run as Penn High School girls golf coach last fall, will retire from teaching at the end of the 2013-14 school year.

Those planning to attend the celebration are asked to RSVP to Debbie Garrett at and to share a story about Jim for a memory book.
