INDIANAPOLIS — NorthWood High School guard Jordyn Frantz is among 18 girls statewide selected as Indiana Junior All-Star basketball players for 2014.
Frantz was named Wednesday, March 12, among the North Six group. There's also a Core Six, considered the best among the best, and a South Six.
Core Six selections are Jenna Allen and Dominique McBryde of Bedford North Lawrence, Lamina Cooper of Lawrence North, Victoria Gaines of Merrillville, Ali Patberg of Columbus North and Tori Schickel of Evansville Mater Dei.
Joining Frantz among the North Six are South Bend Washington's Tiara Murphy, Homestead's Josie Fisher, Fort Wayne Canterbury's Darby Maggard, Michigan City's Michal Miller and Logansport's Nakeya Penny.
Alexa Bailey is among the South Six, giving BNL three Junior All-Stars.
The Junior All-Stars will play against their Kentucky counterparts June 6-7, first at Indianapolis Scecina, then in Lexington. They'll also play exhibitions June 9 and 11 against the Indiana All-Stars at sites to be determined.
North and South Six players are slated to participate once each in each of those two sets of games and the Core Six in all four games.
Frantz's Panther teammate, Morgan Olson, is an Indiana All-Star candidate.
