HAMILTON — Elkhart Christian saw its record-setting season come to an end Friday, March 7 at the Class 1A Hamilton Sectional.

The Eagles, who trailed most of the game, lost 66-63 to Fort Wayne Blackhawk in double-overtime.

"We had some opportunities, but we just didn’t convert them," said ECA coach Ryan Culp. "We really battled back and out of a few holes and gave ourselves an opportunity.

"We were playing most of the game from behind. It was a miracle we were able to survive getting into overtime."

Cory Waycaster scored 29 in his final game. Tanner Watson and Steve Weaver also added nine points each in the losing effort.

The Braves were led by Riley Reimschiesel, who scored 24 points along with Will Davidson’s 16 and Preston Rippe’s 13.

FW Blackhawk plays Lakewood Park in the championship game.

"These seniors have worked extremely hard to get where they’ve gotten," Culp said. "I’ll miss these guys. It’s been a great run with them."
