Waycaster surpasses 1,000 in ECA loss

Eagles' senior scores 22 in five-point loss at Warsaw.

WARSAW — Cory Waycaster scored a game-high 22 points and went over 1,000 for his boys basketball career Tuesday, Feb. 18, but Elkhart Christian fell 52-47 to Warsaw at the Tiger Den.

The win for the Tigers (10-8) snapped a five-game losing streak. The Eagles (14-4) saw their six-game win streak come to an end.

Ryan Kupferschmid added 11 points for Elkhart Christian.

Jordan Stookey paced Warsaw with 16 points.

Warsaw outrebounded ECA 31-21, including 10-4 on the offensive glass.
