NIC Washington knocks Penn from unbeatens

SOUTH BEND — Previously unbeaten Penn fell to South Bend Washington 61-57 in an NIC boys basketball on Friday, Jan. 17. Tra’veon Johnson led Washington’s attack, scoring 23 points.

Penn (9-1) led by one point at the half and two points at the third only to be over taken by Washington in the final quarter.

Ryan Lutz scored 17 points to lead the Kingsmen. Jordan Geist scored 14 points while Christian Wittendorf added 10 points and six rebounds.

Washington improved its overall record to 8-2 and their conference record remains undefeated 4-0.
