BOYS BASKETBALL Doslak, Geist key Penn victory

Penn tops FW Carroll.

FORT WAYNE — Billy Doslak had 19 points, and teammate Jordan Geist added 17 as Penn opened the 2013-14 boys basketball season with a 69-56 victory over Fort Wayne Carroll Saturday, Nov. 30.

The Kingsman led 49-47 entering the fourth quarter, before outscoring Carroll 20-9, which included a 12-1 run, to pull away for the win. Coach Al Rhodes’ team outscored Carroll 22-3 off the bench.

Taylor Brooks had a double-double for Penn with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Geist added seven assists and six steals for the Kingsmen, who shot 63 percent from the field (25-40).

Chandler White scored 26 points to lead Carroll.
