SOUTH BEND — Champion Penn’s Michael Wang was named boys tennis MVP of the Northern Indiana Conference for 2013.

Wang and doubles partners Aidan Koch and Sean Anderson are Penn’s representatives on the first team.

South Bend Adams’ Jamal Henry was chosen as NIC Coach of the Year.

All-NIC Boys Tennis

First team: Singles — Michael Wang (Penn), Patrick O’Connor (St. Joseph), Phillip Moss (Adams). Doubles — Aidan Koch/Sean Anderson (Penn), Michael Minatel/Leo Romanetz (St. Joseph).

Second team: Singles — Jack Julien (Marian), Eric Burton (Elkhart Central), Ryan Jamieson (St. Joseph). Doubles — Corey Fletcher/Matt Paluszewski (Riley), Sam DeTrempe/Ram Fernandez (St. Joseph).

Honorable mention: Singles — Jacob Macri (Penn), Stuart Feeley (Penn), Matt Hinkle (Adams). Doubles — Nick Gerstbauer/Pat Yergler (Marian), Scott Hanberg/Will Riblet (Elkhart Central).

NIC MVP: Michael Wang (Penn).

NIC Coach of the Year: Jamal Henry (Adams).

Final NIC standings: Penn 8-0, SB St. Joseph 7-1, SB Adams 6-2, Mraian 5-3, Elkhart Central 4-4, SB Riley 3-5, SB Clay 2-6, SB Washington 1-7, Mishawaka 0-8.
