Saturday’s girls soccer: Gallegos breaks up scoreless duel late as Central beats Memorial 2-0

O'Dell sisters propel Northridge past No. 13 Homesead.

Elena Gallegos and Brittney VanderHoek tallied late goals as Elkhart Central notched a 2-0 girls soccer victory over host Elkhart Memorial on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Gallegos broke up a scoreless deadlock on a feed from Julie Nolan in the 72nd minute before VanderHoek added her goal in the 78th.

At Middlebury, Brianne O’Dell scored the lone goal on an assist from sister Bailey as No. 19 Northridge beat No. 13 Homestead 1-0 in a matchup of state-ranked teams.
