Saturday’s boys soccer: Swanson nets both Blazer goals in 2-1 win at Memorial

Steve Swanson scored both Central goals as the visiting Blue Blazers rallied for a 2-1 boys soccer victory over crosstown Memorial on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The 12th-ranked Blazers moved to 12-2-1.

At Nappanee, Concord completed the Northern Lakes Conference portion of its season with a 3-0 shutout of NorthWood. The Minutemen are 9-3-1 overall and closed at 4-2-1 in the league.

At Ligonier, Goshen stormed back to beat West Noble 5-4 by scoring three straight goals in the second half, the final one with less than three minutes remaining.

The 12-1 Redskins were also slated to play later in the evening at Fort Wayne South. West Noble dropped to 11-2-2.

At Plymouth, Trent Brickner scored two goals as Northridge improved to 9-3-3 with a 4-2 NLC win over the Pilgrims.

In a Friday night game, Nate Nussbaum tallied both Bethany Christian goals over the final 23 minutes as the Bruins came back for a 2-1 road victory over Westview.
