South Bend St. Joseph topples Marian in “Holy War”

MISHAWAKA — Marian fell to South Bend St. Joseph in the annual “Holy War” brawl at Otolski Field.

The Knights (4-2, 3-1), who sat atop the Northern Indiana Conference, gave up 21 points in the second quarter to contribute to the Indians’ 42-21 win.

Jake Whitfield scored twice for Marian, off a 5-yard run and a 22-yard pass from Devin Cannady. Marian finished with 281 rushing yards.

The win puts St. Joseph at 4-2 (2-1 NIC) for the season.
