Saturday’s boys tennis: Penn’s No. 1s soar through Concord Invite

Penn’s No. 1s were each dominant in leading the Kingsmen to the Concord Invitational boys tennis title on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Michael Wang at 1 singles never allowed a first-set game while winning his three matches. His closest second set was 6-4, that in his championship-round win over Valparaiso’s Peter Williams.

At 1 doubles, Sean Anderson and Aiden Koch never gave up more than two games in a set and allowed just five overall for the Kingsmen, who handily beat out Valpo for the team title, 57-35.

The host Minutemen, led by No. 2 singles champ Bernardo Cadario, were third in the invitational, which also served as a fundraiser to fight cancer.
