Knights fall to New Prairie

NEW CARLISLE — Wade Young scored from two yards out with 3:17 to play in the game early Saturday morning, Aug. 31, to give New Prairie a 28-21 victory over Marian in non-conference football action.

The game was delayed early in the second quarter for over two hours do to lightning and finished at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Young carried the ball 26 times for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Cougars, who rushed for 320 yards in the game. New Prairie quarterback Zach Brassell attempted just one pass in the game, which was picked off by the Knights.

Marian, now 1-1 on the year, led 14-0 thanks to a pair of touchdown pass from quarterback Devin Cannady. New Prairie scored the next 21 points, before Tyran Ottbridge scored on a 76-yard run to tie the game at 21 early in the fourth quarter.
