Prep baseball: Tully fires no-hitter as Blazers move to 23-1

Fairfield pounds Westview; ECA improves to 15-5.

Central’s Tanner Tully tossed his first career-no hitter and posted 11 strikeouts as the second-ranked Blue Blazers cruised to a 4-0 baseball victory over South Bend St. Joseph on Monday, May 13.

Tully, who also drove in two runs, faced the minimum of 21 hitters. Two St. Joe batters reached on walks, but one was caught stealing, while the other was eliminated by a double play.

At Benton, Austin Christner drove in five runs with two hits and scored three times as Fairfield rolled over rival Westview 16-4.

At Nappanee, Tommy Klem struck out seven while going the distance as NorthWood beat Plymouth 5-2.

At Elkhart Christian, the Eagles rallied with two sixth-inning runs for a 4-3 victory that improved them to 15-5.
