MIDDLEBURY — Northridge seniors Josh Rheinheimer and Madison Stewart have each broken long-standing school Raider track and field records.

Rheinheimer went 14 feet, 4 inches in the pole vault on Monday, April 22, at Warsaw to literally inch past Mike Steele’s 1991 mark of 14-3. Rheinheimer’s previous best was 13-8. He was a state qualifier in the event last spring.

Stewart threw the shot put 40 feet, 1/2 inch on April 9 in a meet at Memorial. That displaced Jill Weirich’s 1994 standard of 38-9.

Both records were among the oldest existing at Northridge, according to Raider coach Josh Fletcher.
