NorthWood girls suffer a heart-breaking loss

Panthers finish 22-4.

DECATUR — What a back-breaker for NorthWood’s girls basketball team.

Olivia Hahn drilled a shot from near half-court at the buzzer to give Fort Wayne Concordia a wild 42-39 girls basketball victory over the Black Swish on Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Class 3A Bellmont Regional semifinals.

Morgan Olson’s bucket tied the game at 39 with seven seconds left before Hahn launched her game-winner off the ensuing inbound.

Olson led the Panthers with 21 points, Jordyn Frantz added nine and Savannah Bley eight.

NorthWood, which led 28-23 entering the final quarter, finished at 22-4.

Concordia took a 18-6 record into the championship game against Hamilton Heights (21-2), which edged Norwell 60-58 in the second semifinal.
