Franko House of Concord and Jackson Day of Penn have been named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association Top 50 All-State football squad.

The IFCA released its Top 50 team and class all-state teams Monday. House was selected at tight end and Day at offensive line.

Sam Schrader of Mishawaka, who helped the Cavemen to the Class 4A state championship game, was one of two quarterbacks selected.

Also named in 4A were running back DuWhan Alford of Concord, and two Wawasee players — defensive back Derrick Sorensen and offensive lineman Chad Eppley.

In 3A, Jimtown and Marian athletes peppered the roster. The Jimmies landed three players on defense — end Devan Emerson, linebacker Tanner Adams and deep back Brody Olson.

Halfback Michael Whitfield and defensive end Dillon Gohn were named from the Knights.

Fairfield’s Eldon Burtsfield was chosen for the 2A team at punter while two Penn players — center Gabe Miller and defensive back Michael Mason — made the 5A squad.

Local players tabbed for Junior All-State teams included Concord defensive tackle Michael McQueen in 4A, Jimtown linebacker Casey Adams and Jimtown offensive lineman Keion Johnson in 3A, and Marian’s Michael Farkas in 3A.
