MISHAWAKA — The Notre Dame chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its second-annual bowling event at 10 a.m., Sunday, May 4 at Strikes & Spares Event Center in Mishawaka.

Fans have an opportunity to bowl with current members of the Irish football team for an hour. Registrants will also get a photo opportunity with Notre Dame’s players.

“It’s a great time to interact with our fans and also generate awareness for a wonderful organization that helps raise money for rare diseases," senior Irish linebacker Joe Schmidt said in a release. "We look forward to building upon last year’s success."

Registration is $30 per person. Fans can also sponsor a bowling lane for $250. Proceeds from this event will go towards efforts of raising research funds for osteosarcoma.

Spaces for this event are limited. Contact info@upliftingathletes.org with any questions or concerns.

Notre Dame’s chapter, spearheaded by Schmidt, raises money and awareness for osteosarcoma, a rare malignant bone cancer that affects children. It chose this cause in honor of Sam Grewe, a Northridge teen who was diagnosed with the rare condition in 2011, but has been cancer free for just over a year.
