TED2014 to be live-streamed at Notre Dame

Notre Dame will simulcast part of this year's TED Conference on a large screen.

Although traveling to Vancouver for this year's TED Conference might not be an option for many Michiana residents, locals will have the opportunity to watch a live stream of it at Notre Dame.

TED Conferences give world experts in science, arts, business, entertainment, technology, design and global issues a platform to share their work. Over the course of a week, more than 70 speakers deliver 18-minute presentations, which are broken up by short musical and comedic performances, TED's website said.

You might have heard of TEDtalks – this annual conference is where they were created.

There are only a few universities that simulcast parts of the event – fortunately for people around the area, Notre Dame is one of them. The university will be streaming the conference on a large screen between 11:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. March 18 in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.

According to Notre Dame's website, it will be the only place TED2014 will be simulcasted in the South Bend region.

A list of the speakers that will be presenting during the time period Notre Dame will be streaming the conference can be found on the center's website. Information about the speakers and their specialties can be found on TED's website

Visit Debartolo Performing Arts Center's website to reserve free tickets for the event. You can also watch a live stream of the event on your computer.
