NOTRE DAME — Wide receiver Justin Brent and defensive end Andrew Trumbetti have enrolled at Notre Dame after graduating early from high school.

The pair started classes Tuesday.

Brent is a 6-foot-1, 197-pound receiver, who also played running back at Speedway High School near Indianapolis and was an Associated Press Class 2A All-State selection. He is ranked as the 69th player nationally by Scout.com and 94th by 247Sports.

Trumbetti is 6-5, 250-pound lineman from Demarest, N.J. He also played wide receiver and running back in high school. He is rated as the 135th player nationally by 247Sports and 112th by ESPN.

The two early enrollees match the fewest Notre Dame has had in a year since it started allowing early enrollees in 2006. The Irish also had two early enrollees in 2008.

The Irish finished the season 2-7 in 1963 and the only thing that kept them from matching the worst record in school history set in 1956 was the game against Iowa was cancelled because of the assassination of John Kennedy.
