Help the Kalamzaoo Growlers 'Salute to Selfies' for a new selfie jersey

Taken a selfie recently? You could have it included on a new Kalamazoo Growlers jersey.

"Selfie," "tweep" and "hashtag" have been added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, so why not design a jersey completely out of "selfies?"

That's the idea the new summer collegiate baseball team, the Kalamazoo Growlers, had. They plan to bust out a uniform full of social media-generated photos on Thursday, July 24.

The uniform is a Salute to Selfies. You can submit your own selfie for the shirt on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

To see this unique creation in-person, go to the 7:05 p.m. game at Homer Stryker Field, 251 Mills St., Kalamazoo, Mich. The Growlers roster includes Notre Dame players Ryan Bull, Ryan Lidge and Ryan Smoyer.

For the uninitiated, Merriam-Webster defines a selfie as "an image of oneself taken by oneself using a digital camera especially for posting on social networks."

A "tweep" is "a person who uses the Twitter online message service to send and receive tweets."

Nothing to do with breakfast or pounds, a "hashtag" is "a word or phrase preceded by the symbol # that classifies or categorizes the accompanying text (such as a tweet)."

Example: #SaluteToSelfies.
