Plymouth Blueberry Festival: The 45th annual slow pitch softball event is Friday through Monday, Aug. 30-Sept. 2. Black Swish girls: The NorthWood High girls program is offering three-day girls basketball clinics for first- through fifth-graders at Nappanee, Wakarusa and Woodview elementary schools. EYCC: The Elkhart Youth and Community Center (formerly the YMCA of Elkhart County) is registering boys and girls for its coed soccer leagues until Aug. 20. Cost is $60 for EYCC members and $90 for non-members. Age divisions are: 3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-12 and are subject to change based on registration numbers. ECBSA: Eastlake Chargers Baseball/Softball Academy is offering a new youth team training program called "Elite Baseball Team Development." This program is designed for any Little League or travel team and is intended to mentor both players and coaches. Hitting, fielding, pitching mechanics, arm care, velocity training, speed and agility, controlling the running game, and the mental side will all be emphasized. Rieth 5K Training Runs: The runs are scheduled for Tuesdays through Aug. 26. Sign-in begins at 5:45 p.m. with the run beginning at 6:30 p.m. The runs will be on an all-terrain course used since 1997 in the Goshen Parks Department Classified Woods and canal bank northwest of Goshen College between the Elkhart River and Goshen canal.
