Competing in the ages 12-and-under division, the ninth-seeded Mast had a first-round bye, then won each of his first three matches in straight sets, before falling 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals to No. 5 seed Anish Middash of Midland, Mich.

To reach the quarters, Mast took out fourth-seeded Saketh Kamaraju of Freeport, Mich., 6-4, 6-4. He later added a consolation win over the 13th seed.
