Friday send-off planned for Concord grad Herendeen

Dalton Herendeen, a 2012 London Paralympics swimmer, represents the U.S. next week in California.

DUNLAP — A good-luck send-off for U.S. paralympic swimmer and former Concord High School standout Dalton Herendeen is planned for 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, in the CHS pool lobby.

Herendeen is preparing to represent the U.S. in the Para Pan Pac Championships next week in Pasadena, Calif., according to Concord coach Tom Johnson. His final practice at Concord will be Friday morning.

All swimmers, parents, coaches and alums of CHS and the Concord Swim Club are invited to attend the send-off.

Herendeen, a swimmer at the University of Indianapolis and a competitor in the 2012 London Paralympics, is heading into his senior year.
