Kari Bellville ties for fifth place in first round of junior national championship

GRANGER — Kari Bellville shot a 79, tying for fifth place with four others, in the first qualifying round of the Women’s Western Golf Association’s 88th National Junior Championship at Knollwood Country Club on Monday, July 28. 

Bellville’s score advances her to the second round Tuesday, July 29.

Morgan Nadaline of Anderson led after the first day with a 2-over-par 74, good for a two-shot lead over a pair of players.

The low 32 players after the second round will move on to the Championship Flight. If there are ties, a playoff will be held. All other players will be placed in flights.
