NOTRE DAME — The Chicago Blackhawks are coming back to Notre Dame for part of a training camp.
The National Hockey League team has announced that it will open its 2014-15 camp with practices Sept. 19 to Sept. 21, at Compton Family Ice Arena. The Hawks are to return the United Center in Chicago for the team’s annual Training Camp Festival on Sept. 22.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to return to Notre Dame and their world-class facility,” said Blackhawks vice president and general manager Stan Bowman. “We received an overwhelming positive response from our players and staff on their experience at Notre Dame last September and are looking forward to another great weekend to kick off training camp next season.”
A complete training camp schedule, including Notre Dame ticket information, will be released at a later date.
The Blackhawks Training Camp Festival will be at the United Center on Sept. 22, and the first 10,000 fans to enter the building will receive a Duncan Keith bobblehead. The marquee event of the day will allow fans inside the arena to watch a Blackhawks training camp practice and scrimmage with head coach Joel Quenneville wearing a microphone. All seating within the United Center will be general admission.
Tickets for the 2014 Blackhawks Training Camp Festival will go on sale at 10 a.m. July 18. Fans can purchase tickets for $5 online, by visiting any Ticketmaster location or by calling 800-745-3000. Fans holding tickets to the seventh annual Blackhawks Convention may also purchase tickets on-site.
Outside, the festival will include appearances from Blackhawks alumni, live music, food and drink, and entertainment for fans of all ages.
