Special Olympians compete Saturday at Northridge

Elkhart County event to feature about 50 athletes, with Northridge students on hand to assist them.

MIDDLEBURY — The Special Olympics of Elkhart County Local Track Meet is slated for Saturday, May 3, at Northridge High School.

About 50 Special Olympians are slated to compete in track, field and bocce events.

They will be paired for the day with about 50 Northridge students, who will help the athletes in transition, according to SOEC coordinator Shailyn Owings.

The meet runs from 9 a.m. to about 1 p.m.
