Elkhart Memorial graduate Strausborger now in Triple-A baseball

Ryan Strausborger, 26, is an outfielder with the Pacific Coast League's Round Rock Express, the top affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

ROUND ROCK, Texas — Ryan Strausborger, an Elkhart Memorial High School graduate, is off to a strong start to the 2014 baseball season with the Triple-A Round Rock Express, the top affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

Strausborger, a 26-year-old outfielder, came through games of Wednesday, April 23, hitting .313 with two doubles, two runs batted in and three runs scored in his first five games.

On Tuesday, April 22, he played right field and batted ninth for the Pacific Coast League club.

The former Indiana State University standout is in his fifth season in professional baseball. In 2013, Strausborger played for Frisco in the Double-A Texas League.
