CARY, N.C. — Jordan Burt has signed a contract with the Carolina RailHawks of the North American Soccer League, and he made his debut April 12 in the same city where he played his collegiate career.

The former Concord High School star and Butler University product started on defense and played the entire game in Carolina's season-opening 1-1 draw against the host Indy Eleven. He picked up an early yellow card.

Carolina returns to action April 19 when it hosts Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) in Cary.

Burt, a versatile four-year starter, played in 75 matches over his four seasons at Butler and completed his Bulldog career in 2013 as a team captain.

The RailHawks do not play in Indianapolis again until Sept. 27 at Michael Carroll Stadium. Carolina has a 27-game regular season that runs through Nov. 1.
