Boussom smokes field in USTA event

He never gave up more than two games in any match on his way to prevailing in the 32-player field.

GRANDVILLE, Mich. — Danny Boussom of Goshen dominated the 32-player USTA Midwest Level 4 East tennis championships for boys 16-and-under over the weekend.

The top-seeded Boussom, 16, defeated No. 3 seed Nick Solarewicz of Rockford, Mich., 6-1, 6-0 in the title match, and never gave up more than two games in any of the four rounds leading to the final.
