Waycaster's 21 leads Eagles to Hamilton Sectional victory

HAMILTON — Cory Waycaster scored 21 points for the Elkhart Christian Eagles in a 67-32 victory over Bethany Christian in the first round of the Class 1A Hamilton Sectional boys basketball tournament on Wednesday, March 5.

ECA led Bethany 33-12 at the half. Ryan Kupferschmid added 12 points and five assists for the Eagles.

Sol Brenneman scored 10 points and had three assists and two steals for the Bruins. Bethany teammate Abe Thorne added nine points, including one 3-pointer, and eight rebounds.

The Eagles (17-4) advance to play Fort Wayne Blackhawk in the second semifinal of the Class 1A Hamilton Sectional on Friday, March 7
