Powerlifting Al Reed Bench Press Classic May 11

Meet to benefit lifter battling brain cancer.

GOSHEN — The Al Reed Bench Press Classic, a benefit for the powerlifter and his family, is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, in the main gym at Goshen High School.

There will be divisions for high school (freshman/sophomore and junior/senior) for $15 and open (men and women) for $35. Proceeds for the meet — sponsored by Smoker’s Iron Works, Goshen High School athletics and Grace Community Church — will help the family of Reed, who is being treated for brain cancer.

The weigh-in is scheduled for 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. the day of the event with high school lifters starting at 9 a.m. and open lifters later in the day.
