Men’s Basketball Bowerman, Benner lead Pilots to win

MISHAWAKA — The Bethel defense held Mount Vernon Nazarene to just 32 percent shooting from the field on Wednesday as the Pilots cruised to a 92-55 victory in Crossroads League men’s basketball action.

With the victory the Pilots remained tied with Indiana Wesleyan at the top of the conference standings, as both teams have 11-2 league marks. Bethel is ranked No. 13 in NAIA Division II.

Starting guards Ryan Benner and Jordan Bowerman led the Pilots with 15 points apiece while Zack Miller added 14 and Matt Schauss had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Mourt Vernon trailed by midway through the second half and Bethel used an 18-0 run to put the game away.
