Football Granger’s Lynch PP&K national champion

Granger girl also reigned as an 11-year-old.

Kristina Lynch is once again at National Football League Punt Pass & Kick national champion.

Two years after reigning in the girls 10-11 age division as an 11-year-old, the 13-year-old Lynch won the 12-13 girls title Saturday morning at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome.

In a contest where distance and accuracy count, the Discovery Middle School seventh grader put together a total of 328 feet, 1 inch.

How about jitters?

“I kept telling myself with the amount of practice I put in, I could do it,” said Lynch. “I replaced my nerves with confidence.”

Lynch, representing the Indianapolis Colts, advanced through local, sectional and team levels to make the national finals.

The daughter of Granger’s Greg and Diana Lynch and older sister of Ryan (11) and Brandon (7) will be among the 10 national champions — five girls and five boys — to be recognized between the third and fourth quarter of today’s Seattle Seahawks-Atlanta Falcons playoff game today on Fox. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
