Basketball

Tipping Point Basketball training: Elkhart Sports Center will be the site of clinics for boys and girls ages 5-13 for beginners (starting Feb. 1), intermediate (starting Jan. 28) and advanced (starting Jan. 29). Volleyball

Penn spring camp: Penn High School’s spring volleyball clinic for girls in grades 6-8 is 3 to 6 p.m. on each Saturday in March — 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 — in the main arena at PHS. Cost is $100. Football

Eastlake QB/receiver camp: Session II of the Eastlake Elite youth quarterback and receiving camp is planned for eight Sundays beginning Feb. 3 (and skipping March 3). Evan Sharpley is the QB instructor and Marcus Perez the receivers instructor. Cost is $150 for quarterbacks and $75 for receivers. For more information call Eastlake at 264-0611.

Eastlake winter training: Eastlake Athletic Club is offering a high school football winter strength and conditioning program. Cost is $200 for 10 two-hour, once-a-week sessions on Sundays beginning Jan. 20 and skipping March 3.

Softball

Goshen College fundamentals camp: Led by Lee Mast and the rest of the Goshen College coaching staff, the camp is for ages 12 to 18 and scheduled for 7 a.m. — this is a time change — on Jan. 19 (pitchers and catcher) and Jan. 26 (fielding and hitting). Cost is $40 for one session and $70 for both sessions. The price includes a free T-shirt. Corvilla Snowball tournament: The annual event that raises money for the local agency that provides homes and care for people with developmental disabilities is scheduled for Jan. 26-27 at Mishawaka fields. There will be 42 teams — 30 men’s and 12 coed. For more information call Diana at289-9779.

Baseball

Elkhart Titans U11: The Elkhart Titans will hold tryouts for their 11U team from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at RBI’s Unlimited, 2017 West Sixth St., Mishawaka). Only serious ballplayers should attend. Minimal travel is required during the season. For more information call John at 596-2537.

Northern Indiana Adult Baseball League, South Bend Semi-Pro Baseball League meetings: Organizational meetings for 2013 are scheduled for 1 p.m. on the following Saturdays — Jan. 12, Feb. 16 and March 23 — at St. Joseph County Library, downtown South Bend. The NABL plays on weekends mid-April through Labor Day. The SBSPBL runs from early June to August to fit the needs of those still in college. All managers are welcome to attend. Soccer

Notre Dame national coaching seminar: University of Virginia women’s soccer coach Steve Swason will be the featured clinician March 15-16 on the Notre Dame campus. ND head men’s coach Bobby Clark and ND head women’s coach Randy Waldrum will also participate. Cost is $125 before March 6 or $140 after March 6. Coerver Coaching at ESC: The soccer training method, which involves ball mastery, receiving and passing, moves 1 v 1, speed and group play, is scheduled for nine-week sessions at the Elkhart Sports Center — Mondays (beginning Jan. 21) for U9/U11 coed, 6-7 p.m.; and U-12-U14 boys, 7-8 p.m.; Tuesdays (beginning Jan. 22) for U12/U14 girls, 6-7 p.m., advanced boys, 7-8 p.m. (by invitation only) and high school boys, 8-9 p.m.; Thursdays (beginning Jan. 24) for U-12/U14 boys, 6-7 p.m.; and high school girls, 7-8 p.m.; Fridays (beginning Jan. 25) for U-9/U11 coed, 5-6 p.m.; U-12/U14 girls, 6-7 p.m.; advanced girls, 7-8 p.m. (by invitation only). Road Runs

Sunburst Races: Registration is now open for the 30th annual Sunburst Races May 31 (family fun walk) and June 1 (marathon, half marathon, 10K run, 5K run, 5K fitness walk). Notre Dame Stadium is the finish line for the races. To register online, go to www.sunburstraces.org.
