Top Gun QB Academy: A new session of Sunday workouts at The Training Zone inside Soccer Zone in Granger is scheduled to begin Dec. 2. Grades 5-7 will meet at 11 a.m., grades 8-11 at noon. For more information contact Bill Reagan at 277-3158 or visit and click on “Top Gun QB Academy.”

Eastlake High School QB & Receiver Camp: Dates have been revised for the camp for high school freshmen through seniors at Eastlake Athletic Club in Elkhart. Dates are Dec. 2, 9, 16, 30, Jan. 6 and 13, each from 6 to 8 p.m. Former Notre Dame quarterback Evan Sharpley will be QB instructor and former Northern Illinois receiver Marcus Perez the receiver instructor. Road Runs

Southwestern Michigan Turkey Trot: The 46th annual event at Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, features an 8K (5-mile) run, 5K (3.1-mile) run/walk and 3K (1.9-mile) fun run. ESC winter youth leagues: The Elkhart Sports Center leagues offer divisions for boys in grades 3-6 and 7-8 and girls in grades 3-6 for winter. Cost is $475 per team through Dec. 1 and $525 after Dec. 1. Court fees also may apply. First games are Jan. 12. Tourneys conclude in March. For more information visit


Memorial NIVA tryouts: The club that serves as a feeder program for Memorial High School will hold tryouts for interested third through eighth grade girls on Saturday at Memorial. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. Tryouts run from 2 to 4 p.m. with grades 3-6 in the fieldhouse and grades 7-8 in the gym. Participants are asked to enter through the northwest corner of the building. All players must have a completed AAU membership form, a completed medical release form and the $40 tryout fee. Central NIVA tryouts: The club that serves as a feeder program for Central High School will hold tryouts for interested third through eighth grade girls on Saturday at Central. Registration for 12U players begins at 1:30 p.m., with tryouts following from 2 to 4. Registration for 14U players begins at 4 p.m., with tryouts following from 4:30 to 6:30. Eastlake Academy camps: The Eastlake Chargers Baseball/Softball Acadmey is offering a pitcher boot camp Dec. 22, a hitting camp Dec. 8 and hitting/fielding academies that take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays in November and December. For more information or to register visit or call 264-0611.


Strikezone Baseball: The new indoor baseball/softball training facility, located at 12970 Unit B, McKinley Highway, Mishawaka, will host a pitching clinic. Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne coach Grant Birely will meet with ages 9-12 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and ages 13-18 from 1 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 1. Cost is $50 per session. Sports are limited. U.S. Baseball Academy in Goshen, South Bend: Six-week camps directed by area coaches in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy start Jan. 6 at both Goshen College and South Bend Adams High School.
