 Penn won football, boys tennis, girls soccer (tie), girls golf and girls cross country titles during the Northern Indiana Conference fall season.

Marian is third for boys and second for girls. Elkhart Central is fourth for boys and fifth for girls.

Doug Rhoads, the Atlantic Coast Conference’s director of officials, said refs must “differentiate between incidental contact and significant contact” regarding offensive pass interference calls.

If Notre Dame’s loss to Florida State proved anything, it’s that the Fighting Irish are still contenders for the college football playoff — perhaps a year earlier than expected.

 Notre Dame running back Tarean Folston furthered his campaign as Notre Dame's No. 1 back with a 120-yard performance against Florida State. Folston's 5.7 yards-per-carry average is even more impressive considering he only had one gain of 20 or more yards.

After watching the pass interference penalty that ultimately cost Notre Dame the game against Florida State, head coach Brian Kelly has even “less clarity” as to what happened.
