ELKHART — Pauline Riley, 81, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, at her residence.
Pauline was born May 9, 1933, to Jerald D. and Mary Lou (Black) Heggie in Southside, Tenn.
On March 8, 1952, she married James W. Riley. He preceded her in death in 2009.
She is survived by daughters Kathy (Ron) Gehring of Pleasanton, Calif., Karen (Len) Vaden of Dublin, Calif., and Jamie (George) Lillard of Elkhart; son William J. (Kelly) Riley of Elkhart; grandchildren Scott and Sarah Gehring and Troy and Victoria Vaden; great-grandchild Norah Vaden; sister Patricia Pritchard of Wilmington, Ill.; and brothers Bill Heggie of Clarksville, Tenn., and Jerald Heggie of La Verne, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael; sisters Agnes Minton and Shirley Reardanz; and brothers Bob and Bud Heggie.
Pauline was a graduate of Central High School in South Bend. She worked for Wilts Food and Kmart. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Heaton Lake Conservation Club. Pauline enjoyed her cats, Facebook, feeding the birds, fishing, gambling and spending time with family and friends.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home and an hour prior to the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, Aug. 26, at St. Rose Church, 603 S. Main St., Wilmington. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
