EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — William A. Odell, 95, of Edwardsburg, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, at his home.
He was born March 17, 1919, in Elkhart County to the late Mason and Dora (Kahler) Odell.
On April 25, 1942, in Elkhart he married Helen M. DeWitt. She preceded him in death Aug. 11, 2000, in Elkhart.
Surviving are three children, Cheri (Raymond) Boone of Livonia, Carol (James) Wilfert of Niles and Danni (Nancy) Odell of White Pigeon; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
William was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during World War II. He was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church and a former member of the Michiana Horseshoe Association. He enjoyed woodworking. William was a foreman at Elkhart Foundry and Machine Shop, retiring in 1981.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the funeral home. Pastor Andy Martin will preside. Burial will follow in Adamsville Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered.
Memorial contributions may be given to the New Hope United Methodist Church or Hospice at Home.
