MISHAWAKA — Verneita Rose Lamb, 91, of Mishawaka died peacefully Wednesday, July 9, surrounded by three generations of family.
She was born in Cavalier, N.D., on Feb. 26, 1924, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Andrews) Schafer.
She met her future husband, Orion Lamb, while working at Lockheed Aircraft in California; they were married May 1, 1943. They lived in Constantine, and she worked at the Kirsch Co.
Verneita is survived by her children, Roger (Eden) Lamb of Conroe, Texas, Reva Cheri Underwood of South Bend, Warren (Jean) Lamb of Las Vegas and Stephanie Anne (Patrick) Holland of El Cajon, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and sister Cherie Bill of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Marquise and James Schafer; and great-grandson Samuel Lamb.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon, Mich. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the funeral home, followed by burial in Mendon Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
