BRISTOL — Joas J. Chupp, 86, suffered from Alzheimer’s and fell Saturday, June 14. He died at 12:34 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Arthur, Ill., to the late Jacob J. and Mattie (Herschberger) Chupp.
On Nov. 20, 1951, he married Esther Yutzy, she survives.
Survivors include a daughter, Naomi (Robbie) Royal of Bristol; three sons, Larry J. (Dot) Chupp of Shipshewana, Anthony Wayne (Coretta) Chupp of Middlebury, Danny Lee (Leah) Chupp of Jones, Mich.; grandchildren Tabitha, Rachel, Andrew, Jonathan, Ethan, Alaina, Kirsten, Daniel, Laurel and Jana; four brothers, Eli (Anna) Chupp , Lewis (Mary) Chupp, Edward (Verna) Chupp, Omer (Lorene) Chupp; three sisters, Edna (Fred-deceased) Schrock, Clara (Edward) Schrock , Wilma (Eli) Yoder.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Eldon Chupp.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 20, with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 21, both at Townline Mennonite Church, 2165 S. 1000 W., Shipshewana. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.
