SARASOTA, Fla. — Margaret Love, 98, of rural Goshen, Ind., passed away at 6:30 p.m. March 22, at Benderson Nursing Home in Sarasota — she has resided there since 2008, having previously lived at Hubbard Hill Village for 14 years.

She was born in Elkhart (Ind.) County on April 17, 1915, to the late Alice Myrtle (Wenger) and Floyd C. Cook.

On Sept. 12, 1936, she married Dale B. Love Sr. He passed away Dec. 3, 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly (Bradley) Hahn of Sarasota; two sons, Dale Jr. (Jewel) and Douglas (Kathleen), both of Goshen; and a brother, Keith Cook of Elkhart. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald, Daniel, Donald and James Cook, and sisters Verna Squires and Elizabeth Wood.

Margaret attended Jamestown Methodist Church and was an active parent while her children attended school. She loved her family and kept up with all of their activities as they grew up. She had a keen interest in politics and enjoyed participating in the Baugo Homemakers Club. She and her husband always planted a large garden and enjoyed canning and freezing, which she often shared with family. While not a golfer herself, she enjoyed following the PGA on TV and frequently joined her husband fishing.

A Christian memorial gathering will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Jamestown United Methodist Church, 59218 C.R. 3, Elkhart, where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Rogers will officiate. A private burial was in Olive (East) Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Council of Elkhart County.

Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa, is in charge of local arrangements.
