ELKHART — Clyde "Red" Taylor, 79, of Elkhart, died at 6:31 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at home.
Clyde was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Cascilla, Miss., to the late Eula and Fannie (Rice) Taylor.
He married Carolyn C. Evans in April 1964.
He retired from Almac Sotebeer (Macumber) after 40 years.
Survivors include his wife; children, Cassandra Taylor, Clyde Taylor Jr., Carolyn Ann Taylor, Lonnie Taylor, Willie Hence, Joyce Hence, LaVern Hence, Mary Ann Taylor, Tony (Keesha) Hence, Alfred (Melinda) Hence, Connie (Christopher) Thornton, Carmen Taylor, Terrance Taylor and Xavier Taylor; 59 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and siblings Jefferie Taylor, Fannie Mae Bradford, Emma Driver, Mildred Taylor, U.T. (Christine) Taylor, A.L. (Liddell) Taylor and Leon Taylor.
Visitation will be for an hour prior to the noon Saturday, May 3, funeral service at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 228 Chapman Ave., Elkhart. Burial will follow in Prospect Hills Cemetery, Cassopolis, Mich.
