ELKHART — James Henry Cook, 96, of Elkhart, passed away in his home Friday, March 14.
He was born Dec. 13, 1917, in Elkhart County, to Floyd and Alice Myrtle (Wenger) Cook.
On Dec. 31, 1940, he married Louise Cook. She survives.
Also surviving are daughter Ida (Ned) Owen of Fort Wayne; brother Keith Cook of Elkhart; two grandsons, John and Henry Owen of Fort Wayne; and sister Margaret Love of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel, Gerald and Donald Cook; and sisters Verna Squires and Elizabeth Wood.
James was a dairy farmer and milk hauler. He was a graduate of Jimtown High School and member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service Tuesday, March 18, at Jamestown United Methodist Church. Pastor Paul Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
