MIDDLEBURY — Sandra Sue Kleckner, 72, of Middlebury, passed away Tuesday, March 4, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield.
She was born July 16, 1941, in La Porte, the daughter of Carl and Ruth (Werner) Nelson.
On Oct. 5, 1969, she married the late Ronald L. “Ron” Kleckner in Morristown, Tenn.
Survivors include her son, David (Monica) Tieman of New Palestine; grandson Matthew Tieman of Cheonan, South Korea; granddaughter Lauren Tieman of New Palestine; stepmother Dorothy Nelson of Fort Pierce, Fla.; one aunt; and many cousins, step-nieces and step-nephews.
Sandra worked as a cashier for Kohl’s Department Store for several years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 411 W. Vistula St., Bristol, with visitation beginning an hour prior. Burial of her cremated remains will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County, the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society or St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church.
